Midway through his season, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Music Director Cristian Măcelaru chats with WGUC host Elaine Diehl about feeling welcomed by Cincinnati—and the passion CSO musicians bring to serving the community through music.

Born in Timișoara, Romania, Măcelaru grew up in a large musical family and came to the U.S. at 17 on a scholarship to study violin at Interlochen Arts Academy—setting in motion an extraordinary musical journey.
