We Are One: Roots explores the influence of traditional West African music on genres of modern-day African American music, including hip-hop, and features baritone Babatunde “Hip Hopera” Akinboboye. This orchestral music festival seeks to amplify underrepresented voices by acknowledging historical and contemporary inequities and celebrating unique cultures.
