New at Noon: July 23, 2025
Salt Lake City-based violinist Kerstin Tenney incorporates physical, neurological, and psychological elements both as a musician and as a music educator in her studio. She performs regularly with the Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square and has toured with the Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra on stages across the world, including Carnegie Hall, the Berlin Philharmonie, and the Vienna Musikverein.
Her debut album, “LIGHT,” includes four new works that she commissioned and eight new arrangements. “The journey to create, “LIGHT,” began with an idea that came to me in 2011,” says Tenney. I was going to make a violin album. I wondered what it would be about, and a single word followed: LIGHT. The path I followed to create this album reflects my own journey to find and connect to Light.” Today at Noon we’ll hear three selections from the album, Arvo Part’s, “Mirror in the Mirror”, Micah Dahl Anderson’s, “Lullaby,” and Elgar’s “In Moonlight”.
