New at Noon: July 30, 2025

Pianist Beatrice Rana loves music so much that she founded her own Chamber Music Festival in 2017: Classiche Forme, in her hometown of Lecce. It’s become one of the biggest musical summer events in Italy and it has revitalized and renewed the perception of chamber music among young people and larger audiences.

The award-winning pianist calls Johann Sebastian Bach “an important figure in my life … My piano studies began when I was very young, and Bach was there from the very start. I was immediately enthralled by his music.”

Rana was only nine years old when she played his music for her first ever public concert. Some twenty years later, she recorded his keyboard concertos with the Amsterdam Sinfonietta. Listen Wednesday at Noon to her the new recording of Bach’s Keyboard Concerto #1 performed by Beatrice Rana. NEW at NOON on 90.9 WGUC, and WGUC.org
